The story of a snail.
Once upon a time, there lived a small but relatively large snail. I first saw it at the foot of Balestier hill on 3rd of january 2007. It was motionless, or maybe running(gliding) at full speed upwards the hill which is obviously not noticeable to the human eye. Its motion was obvious from the trail of decaying muscus which it left behind on its eternal journey. I took a quick glance at my watch, 6.50 it says(am), im early! so i squatted down and stared at the snail, its disgusting two long eyes sticking out from its body stared back. Proportionately, the length of the snail's eyes would be like human eyes sticking out a metre from our heads, how pleasant. It snugged back into its shell quickly, and the round shell faced the penalty of gravity, rolling back down the few centimeters it climbed. So i stood up and went to school.
The next morning. Oh hi snail, its you again, i see you've accomplished 10-20 cm in 24 hours, not bad for climbing speed equal to pentium 0.5 processor. "brrrooomm...." the sky lit with flashes of lighting followed by thunder, my right hand reached to my hoversack's side pocket to take out an umbrella. "hey snaily boy, if your a boy that it, its about to rain, take care!" so i stood up and coincidentally, the first few drops of rain came pouring. When the first drop landed on the snail, it snugged back into its shell, and once again fell back to gravity's demise, bottom of the Balestier Hill. Good luck tommorow, pray it doesn't rain.
Last day of the week it was, friday, 3rd day of school, and 3rd day of snaily boy boy. It didn't rain, looks like its TGIF for snaily boy boy as well. This time, he managed 1 whole metre all by himself, after rolling down alllllll the way....backkk down......to the bottom of what he climbed-->20cm. "good job snaily boy boy"...I wonder what you eat everyday? All this exercise must be making you thin, look at that, all slime and shell(skin and bones), do you drink milk from ur mama too? Id love to chat but i can't hang around much, my train is arriving!! gotta go! So i continued my 4-6 minute brisk walk to novena mrt.
Its the weekend, 6-7th january 2007, no early mornings for me, and no snaily boy boy either, the story of the snail will take an interval. lala~ lala~ lala~ (musical interlude) la la la~....this is a song...lala...lala...elmo's song.......lala lala...lala...lala elmo's SONG!!!
Monday, i walked down balestier hill as usual looking out for snaily boyboy's progress. But he was gone, "ohhh snailyyyy...where are youuuuu....." ...........well either hes DEAD, or hes CRUSHED...or maybe.......SMASHED...ambivalent, i headed to school. My morning daily entertainment was gone after the weekend.
The next day, i didn't bother looking for snaily boy boy anymore, bet hes happy running(or crawling) around somewhere. As i walked down balestier hill...."PISH" i felt my feet kick something, around 10 metres or so from the bottom of the hill, then i saw what looked like a large snail shell rolling down the hill.....yep you guessed it. ITS YOU!!! SNAILY BOY BOY!!! ohhh i missed you so much.....ah! i kicked you....i see ur shell is cracked.....wanna put some plaster? Bio teacher : snail can regenerate their shells. Oh so be it, now i know why i couldn't find you the day before, after such a long weekend, of course you must have conquered more than afew metres, i couldn't find you because i was only looking at the bottom of the hill!! But now that ur back down here...looks like ur efforts wasted, blame my shoe. Im nt gna pick you up and give you a ride. jia you bah...!XD
Wednesday morning, "hey, why are you on the road? Its dangerous!! (not like the footpath is any safer, i just kicked you yesterday), well you always have the grass...." It'll probably take you half a day or so to get onto the grass patch, but its worth the security!! (takes me half a second hehehehe). Oh i know why you don't like the grass, cause all the neighbourhood's dogs pee on them huh......i see.......my dog is guilty too....dog's pee are lethal to snail skin. Ah, a cars coming, thankfully ur on the side of the road, away from the direct path of the wheels. Oh dont' worry, even if you were ran over by the wheels, ur reaction time would be too slow to realise that ur actually DEAD. Well at least your almost half way up balestier hill now. 4 hours later, at school, it rained............oh snaily boy boy.....back to square 1.....(blame ur shell for being round)
End of story of snail part 1.
To be continued.....
