Its my scale of late in the night. Im sitting comfortably in my cushioned study table seat, listening to jaychou songs that the pink princess sent me. I would say im currently content. This could purely be due to the bar of dark chocolate that i ate in the afternoon, believe it or not, dark chocolate has a drug that induces high chemical reactions which makes u happy, however don't celebrate and spam all the chocolate you have, for its only the caoco, thats makes u happy, not the chocolate/sugar/fats. So besure to avoid milk/white chocolate cause all they do is make u fat and unhappy. So far, ive been resorting to dark chocolates as my source of relief. Talking and sharing helps but only for that period of time, chocolates hours after. im not a shopperholic so retail therapy doesn't work for me. Its a cool day today.
Though im relatively happy today, it doesn't mean anything is solved. Skins improving, marginally though. I see some value of the 800 dollars returning. Im starting to become stupid, but thats not true. Initially when i was practicing prelim questions and realising i don't know how ot do more than half of them i panicked, but i realised i was doing hwachong and top college papers, and my expectations of full marks everytime is too high. relax. Today my dog learnt to climb stairs, but sadly my parents are against him coming up to 2nd or 3rd level cause they scared he pee or poos. but i believe he can be trained and he should be given a chance, he just wants some company, and climbing stairs will do him some exercise, hes a little fat. Oh and did u know climbing two steps for a dog is the same as climbing 1 storey for a person?
Today i shall comment on political issues once again. Unorganised and unplanned, please forgive me. Okay, Abdullah or Anwar Ibrahim?BN or Opposition? Some support the sodomy accused victim, well i support neither, for they are equally corrupt, i support the campaign to topple the government though, for the worse off they are, the better for us. My fellow countrymen, please do not frown at the sight of uncough and uncultured neighbours for if they were as brilliant, we would be finished=). My PD tutor once said that ASEAN must wake up and join as 1 entity, Such as the united 50 states in america or the European Union. I do not doubt his knowledge but i can't help but disagree. How plausible is that possibility, and in what possibly way could such an idea work in favour of Singapore's interests. We all know of malaysia's plight, indonesia remains one of the most corrupt countries in the world and is likely to maintain her defending champion title, phillipino Gloria Arroyo isn't the most popular female leader, Thailand's protest is gna close down their last operational airport, cambodia, myanmar, and vietnam, a long road from demoncracy, laos and papau new gunea too insignificant to have a voice. How do you set a sight on ASEAN's union?probably now in the next century, i can safely assert.
The next reason is singapore's interest, to maintain economic and politcal stability. Have u ever heard of the definition of diffusion, movement from regions of high concentration to areas of low concentration, will the same happen if union were to occur? Yes my PD tutor has a point when he said decades from today the world may not rely as much on global shipment, as air transport and possibly teleportation technology might very well eraditcate ASEAN's roles of the global map. Singapore acts as a reseller and not a re-innovator or re-inventor, thats are only source of income which many avocates aren't too happy about local firms. but a union of Asean at this stage isn't gna have much impact in the global economy as most or almost 90% of nations in ASEAN are not "developed" with many "problems".
My PD tutor also asked us to be creative to invent and create, rather than sell, and be salary workers. As much as my desire and crave for new ideas are dying to burst out of my imagination, there are limitations both to the government, economy, and education system which unless altered, will singapore forever stay as a reseller. Our leaders, teachers, bosses keep telling us to research and create, but where is the physical, monetary and interlectual support? Who would ever think that our education system promotes creativity?Hard work and perserverance probably. Thats probably the consequence of meritocracy but its too complex for myself to comprehend so i won't comment. We see much talk and little action, MOE fullfilling skills "creativity, generation of ideas" are promoted in meagre subjects like project work which only sounds good but actually is filled with strict limitations and narrow sewers for students to stretch and expand. I quote a situation where my group had to follow a template and 4 pages of criterias and restrictions in our project such that it "ANSWERS THE QUESTION" so basically its memorising an answer and creatively paraphrasing it.
Being plainly a student, i have limited knowledge of the working world. But to the best of my knowledge i understand that local firms provide little opportunity for creation of new products and goods. Even if an employee of a consumer product manufacturing company has a brilliant suggestion, he is turned down and return to his desk and resume routine work. However that suggestion could have the potential to bring that company from a lowly local firm to an MNC. The government is not helping either, like NATO(No Action Talk Only) it seems to be only asking and suggesting to singaporeans to take risks and be entrepreneurs without seriously putting money into helping it. Comparing % funds set aside into R and D in the US and here, we obviously see why we aren't producing new things. I wonder where the increase in Gst and other taxes goes to(besides the minster's pockets). Sueing opposition for defamation until they go bankrupt(at least better sodomy), they can do whatever they want facing no threat. In 2003, the gst was 3%, in 2004, raised to 4%, 2005, 5%, and in 2007, 7%, thankfuly the numbers don't follow the pattern this year in light of high inflation. The increase in gst from 5%to7% amounts to approximately 750million in revenue for the government and coincidentally equals to the amount of salaries increased for ministers. They say that increase in gst is used to hlep the poor, but then i ask, where do the increase in salary come from, obviously the revenue, which come from taxes! Talk about twisting words.
Our generation has seriously been brainwashed, an 8 year old kid once shouted go PAP in front of his parents during electrion period. Shocked his parents ask why, he said PAP was the best. THis meant that kids nowadays are supporting PAP without knowing why. For fear of being involved in any court cases, i shall not say more.
